ADC
ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
This is an idea that is in it's infancy.  I think it is a good start but there is a lot
of work and good people being involved to help it grow.

Overall Athletic Development Plan
Values and Goals

***************1.  ATHLETE FIRST.  Ultimately, everything needs to be directed
in a positive, character building experience and environment for the athlete.
If you start from there and make that the number one priority, there can
never be any error.  The athlete’s needs as a developing person, as well as
how they feel and see things must always be the priority.  The positive of this
is that your overall goal is to make a better person, build character and
esteem for the athletes.  There is also an elimination of possible negative
ends for an athlete because our push to progress an athlete can never
override the intentions of the athlete.  It is the athletes choice to participate
and grow, we are providing the tools and a vehicle to enhance and optimism
this process.**************

2.  DEVELOPING GREAT COACHES.  If you want to make the world better,
start with yourself.  If we as coaches and parents want to make our athletes
better, we need to get better.  We need to think of ways to make us as
coaches better.  Build an open honest sharing dialogue for coaching and
athletic information.  (Concepts, Drills, Tips)  Extend these ideas to all
parents.  Start some quarterly, monthly meetings to discuss ideas.  Have
speakers and athletic presentations.  Have Resources available for coaches.
Bring about honest, open discussion about athletics and how to make the
whole system better.  Make standards to coaching in our community.

3.  MAXIMIZING ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE.  Have a holistic approach to
building athletes (build the total value of all athletes).  The overall goal is to
have multiple layers of extremely talented athletes that will eventually achieve
the highest success in high school which will lead to multiple collegiate
scholarships in all divisions.  Once they are fundamentally sound by being
coached by our developed coaches, establish a community level of
involvement in supporting athletic training.  Build the most positive,
emphasized athletic environment for all athletes--with a priority on building
the bottom up.  By building the whole group, everyone will benefit on all levels.
